Counselling Centre

Family counseling centre was established in the year 1991 to materialize the vision of the college to serve mankind and to train the students to serve humanity. Family counseling centre functions under the social service league of Mercy College and it is aided by the Central Social Welfare Board, Dept. of human and Child, Govt. of India. Our Counseling centre functions with two experienced and trained counselors.

We have an efficient multidisciplinary team to advice and guide us in all our activities. This team meets quarterly to evaluate the functioning of the Counseling Centre. The counselors seek advice from Psychiatrists, Psychologists, Lawyers and Police officials who are part of our team. Members from different voluntary agencies are included in the team in order to provide good rehabilitation facilities to our clients.

Till now 2,381 Cases are being registered. 728 Cases are registered from the year 2008. We deal with all types of cases such as Marital problems, family problems, Alcoholism, Adolescent and psychiatric problems. We are conducting a Premarital Seminar every year for the unmarried youth. Classes on adolescent problems, Personality Development, Counseling skills, Parent awareness etc. are given to adolescent groups, Anganwadi workers and teachers.
